Dayton, OH artist, Mic Lansky, 31, dead after shooting

Michael A. Hall III, 31, was pronounced dead after being shot in a vehicle around midnight in the area of West Hillcrest and Salem avenues, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent E. Harshbarger. An 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Dayton hospital in critical condition, police said. Initial reports indicate at least 10 shots were heard in the area before the two shooting victims were located.

“Homicide detectives were requested to the scene and are working diligently to piece together what has occurred and to locate the individuals involved,” Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said in an emailed statement. Hall also was known as Dayton-area rapper Mic Lansky. The intersection of West Hillcrest and Salem avenues has been crowded throughout the day with dozens of people paying respects and adding to a memorial erected near the intersection.
